Tips To Shape Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows come in all shapes and sizes, some are more shapely than others and some are thicker than others. Your eyebrows are all your own. Take care of them by trimming, plucking, and waxing to give them their shape. See below for some tips to care for your eyebrows and to keep them beautifully shaped:

Figure Out Your Brow Shape

To find your brow shape, use a pencil with the bottom of the pencil against your nostril and the top pointed straight up to find where your eyebrow starts. Move the top of the pencil to the center of your eyebrow to find the arch, then move it to the end to find the tail. Once you figure out your brow shape, make marks on your eyebrow with an eyebrow pencil. Mark the start of the eyebrow, the arch, and the tail.

Start Plucking

Pluck anything past where your eyebrow should start. Then pluck anything after where your eyebrow should end. At the center of your eyebrows (at the arch), you'll want to pluck any stray hairs in the bottom row of your eyebrow hair past the center mark. Don't over-pluck this area though, or you'll end up with an extremely thin tail end of your eyebrow. Also, pluck any strays above the tail end of your eyebrow.

Wax

To help create a smooth brow you can use wax in between your eyebrows, below your brows and above your brow. You can find eyebrow wax at your local pharmacy or big box store near the makeup section. If you aren't comfortable waxing yourself, you can have this done for you at your local beauty salon by a professional.

Apply Moisturizer

Apply moisturizer or cream to your eyebrows to tame your eyebrow hairs and to get them in proper placement. This also helps to shape your brow and can soothe your brows after waxing or plucking.

Fill In Sparse Areas

If your eyebrows are sparse or you've over-plucked, you can use an eyebrow pencil or powder to fill in these areas. There are a number of options on the market to choose from. Simply use a pencil to mark the shape of your eyebrow, then use a powder or your eyebrow pencil to fill in the areas between the lines you marked. Blend them together so you don't see the lines you drew on.

Your eyebrows say a lot about you. Keep them in great shape by following the tips above. Contact eyebrow waxing services near you for more information and assistance.
